Fantastic opportunity for an IT & Development Manager to join a market leading company.
You will be responsible for the management of a multi-functional team and deliver IT, Telephony and Software Development services, in line with the company’s strategy.
Key Tasks:
Project Management –
Work alongside the business to translate business requirements into design specifications
Resolve resource or prioritisation conflicts
Produce management reports as required
Ensure agreed deadlines are met and issues are escalated as required
Team Management –
Set development targets and manage progress to ensure these targets are met
Perform team member appraisals, provide coaching and motivate staff
Provide technical leadership to the team
Develop team’s technical and personal skills
Communication –
Communicate effectively at all levels including with external companies
Represent IT to the business
With the help of HR, ensure there is adequate training in place for users
Systems Management –
Ensure integrity, efficiency, availability and security of information and systems
Provide analytical and development skills to support systems
Provide escalation cover for support and key events
Continually promote and evaluate development and testing methodologies, tools and standards
Experience:
Essential
• Have experience of leading technically complex software development projects
• Have strong, up to date and proven knowledge of best practices in software development required to deliver quality, high performing, reliable and robust applications to agreed deadlines
• Be an experienced people manager able to keep a team motivated, focused, engaged, productive, and fulfilled whilst fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration and innovation
• Be experienced in mentoring, coaching and development of team members
• Have excellent communication and presentation skills
• Have proven investigative, analytical and problem solving skills
• Have a flexible and adaptable approach
• A team player who is hardworking and highly self-motivated
• Can work to strict deadlines, remain positive and calm under pressure
• Ability to work in a challenging and demanding environment with changing priorities
• First class programming skills in C# / SQL Server / JavaScript
• Desirable:
• Knowledge and experience of working in an Agile development environment
