As SaaS company are looking for a Full Stack Senior PHP Engineer to join their professional, dynamic and fun team based in South West London and looking to move to Waterloo around the New Year. You will be passionate about development and enthusiastic about web technologies. If you are willing and able to be an all-round developer then this could be the job for you.

The Role
You will be required to do application and website development from the ground up taking care of all aspects of backend development. Your normal week will consist of working on multiple projects, including the company’s core products and one-off projects along with helping with the day-to-day assistance and guidance of the other developers.

My client would like for someone who will grow into the role and eventually take over leading the department and pushing the company forward on the technological front.

The team works directly with clients with the objective to deliver support and improvement for them on an ongoing basis. You will therefore be well presented and a good communicator. You’ll be professional in your communications with internal and external contacts, and will be able to report accurately to the department lead to advise of task and project progress.

Responsibilities
– Research and Development for company products
– Roadmap planning and planning for upcoming work / releases
– Custom development projects
– Writing, reviewing and organising technical documentation in the company handbook
– Day-to-day team support across Development and Production
– Technical calls
– Reviewing project briefs
– Meeting and communicating with customers, partners and suppliers for technical solutions
– Write and review the technical aspects of pitches
– Out of hours critical website / server issues
– Implement and enforce best practices / code practices and testing processes across technical – Assisting top level management with technical questions and documentation
– Support tickets

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
– Minimum of 5 years work experience
– High level skills in PHP5
– OO coding principles
– Experience working with RESTful APIs and Web Services
– WordPress experience (theme and plugin development)
– Professional experience building data driven websites and web applications
– Design and optimisation of MySQL databases and complex queries – Framework experience (Zend, Zend2, Phalcon, Laravel, Symfony, Symfony 2, Doctrine)
– Experience in working with high traffic websites
– Experience leading teams – Knowledge of CMSs (WordPress, Drupal or others)
– Git management and deployment
– CSS3 & HTML5
– OO JavaScript (ES6, Node, Gulp, AJAX)
– Linux server environment (CentOS / RHEL / Amazon Linux, Ubuntu / Debian)
– Linux configuration and management
– Fluent in English
– Ability to work to tight deadlines and a willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty

Nice to haves:
– AWS experience
– PHP7
– Frontend frameworks (Angular, Angular2, Vue, React etc)
– WP Engine experience
